Curious by nature
Mary Church
Making complicated things feel a little less complicated.
For most of my career, that has meant producing commercial campaigns. Over time, I realized it also describes how I move through life.
Introduction
I've always been drawn to complicated things.
Big productions. New ideas. Personal growth. Writing. Travel. Finance. Gardens. Reinvention.
Different subjects. Same curiosity.
I'm fascinated by how people think, how teams work, and how we continue growing long after we think we're supposed to have everything figured out.
The Work
I'm a commercial producer by profession.
I love the organized chaos of production. Bringing talented people together. Solving problems before they become distractions. Creating an environment where creativity can thrive.
The best production days are usually the ones where nobody notices production.
That's kind of the point.

Writing is a different kind of production.
Instead of call sheets and schedules, it's ideas, memories, questions, and a lot of rewriting.
I'm currently working on several projects, including a memoir, a children's book, and a podcast, along with other ideas that seem to appear at the most unexpected times.
Writing gives me the opportunity to slow down, connect the dots, and explore the stories behind the experiences.
Like production, it all starts with curiosity.
Always Learning
I've never been very good at staying in one lane.
Learning has always been one of my favorite adventures.
Over the years I've explored psychology, hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Reiki, mindfulness, behavioral science, and other approaches to understanding how people think, communicate, and grow.
Not because I was looking for easy answers.
Because I enjoy asking better questions.
I enjoy exploring the practical side of personal growth, whether that's through psychology, mindfulness, or simply paying closer attention to how we move through the world.
I'm not interested in collecting certifications. I'm interested in collecting perspectives.
Outside the Office
Curiosity doesn't clock out at five o'clock.
You'll usually find me planning my next trip, working in the garden, redesigning a room, restoring a piece of furniture, reading about longevity, learning something new, or disappearing down a rabbit hole because one interesting question led to another.
I've learned that inspiration rarely stays in its own category.
Some of my best ideas have come while traveling. Some of my best writing has come from ordinary conversations.
Some of life's biggest lessons have arrived completely uninvited.
A Few Things I Believe
- The work matters.
- People matter most.
- Stay curious.
- Good ideas can come from anywhere.
- Preparation creates confidence.
- Production has enough drama already.
- No problems. Only solutions.
- Never stop learning.
Still Curious?
I don't think life is about finding yourself. I think it's about staying curious long enough to keep becoming yourself.
